Q: How is “disability” defined by Social Security?
A: According to the Social Security Act, a "disability" is defined as an inability to engage in any considerable gainful activity by reason of any medically determinable mental or physical impairment which can be expected to result in a fatality or has lasted or can be anticipated to last for a continuous amount of time of not less than one year.

Q: How many various types of Social Security disability benefits exist?
