ABOUT YOUR ATTORNEY

Caroline is a trial lawyer. She has represented both sides in the criminal justice system, so she understands the strategies used by her opponents. She started working in criminal defense while in law school and was a defense attorney at The Wright Firm immediately upon becoming a lawyer. It wasn't long before she was hired as a prosecutor in the Denton County District Attorney's Office where she gained significant trial experience and learned how to think like a prosecutor in the courtroom. In her four and a half years at the DA's Office, she developed a reputation as an aggressive trial lawyer and had tremendous success. She assisted in prosecuting high-profile cold cases, including that of Denton Police Detective Robert "Bobby" Lozano who was convicted of murdering his wife. Caroline also assisted in the prosecution of Charles Stobaugh who was convicted of killing his wife, Kathy Stobaugh, though her body was never found.

In 2011, Caroline joined Rick Hagen as a partner at Jackson & Hagen, a long standing criminal defense firm in Denton. She tirelessly advocated for her clients and won numerous trials against her former colleagues. In 2013, Caroline created her own law practice, Simone Legal, Inc. Her mission is to continue to aggressively fight for people accused of crimes, while compassionately counseling them, and their families, through the difficulties they experience along the way.

Going back even further...Caroline was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, where she was a standout student and athlete. She graduated from St. Teresa's Academy and moved to Texas for college, where she has remained ever since. Caroline attended Trinity University in San Antonio and continued her athletic career as a member of the softball team. While at Trinity, she earned the SCAC Conference Player of the Year Award and was named Second Team All-Region by the NCAA. After college, she attended Southern Methodist University's Dedman School of Law, where she continued her competitive ways. She was a regular in mock trial and moot court competitions, played plenty of intramural sports, and was a student attorney in the Criminal Defense Clinic at SMU. She attained her Juris Doctorate from SMU at the age of 25 and began practicing as a criminal attorney immediately.
