Houston’s mother, Cissy Houston, has been trying to get Bobbi Kristina into drug rehab before anything happens. However, given her drug problem, there may be grounds to have her legally declared incompetent to manage the money and take care of herself. If this happens, someone may be declared a conservatorship over her. As her father, Bobby Brown may have a standing to apply for this position with the courts. If that happens, he will have complete access to any money she receives from the estate. This is, of course, assuming Houston simply left her daughter the money. Another possibility is if Houston left Bobbi Kristina the money in a trust. If this were the case, she would likely not have access to the money until she turned 21, which would give her time to get herself cleaned up. If she happens, Bobby Brown would have no standing to have her declared incompetent to handle money. It is not clear yet what Houston has set up for her estate. However, it has been reported that there are finish wishes in place. Finally, because Houston has put something, either a will or trust, in place for her estate, this will make the probate process progress faster. If nothing were in place, the estate could be fought over by anyone claiming to have a right to some of her money. This could range from a relative to a former employee.
