This happened 3 years ago, and now Ogunbayo is hitting back at the city with a lawsuit filed in Brooklyn Federal Court – a $900 trillion lawsuit. Of course, she's not going to get $900 trillion and this only reinforces the Child Services contention that she has a mental condition that makes her unsuitable to be a parent. She apparently told a doctor her children's skin was getting darker because of radiation and wrote to her school that the FBI and secret service were after the kids. The case is even more of a circus because Ogunbayo is representing herself. At the end of the day, the case is about getting back her children, and it just might happen too. In a separate case a couple of months ago, the state appellate division threw out the Family Court's verdict of neglect against Ogunbayo. The appellate panel said there was no reason or evidence to connect her mental problems to her parenting abilities. The two boys, who are now aged 13 and 16, had an almost perfect attendance in school and had good grades. Their physical condition was par for their age and they had all the necessary examinations and vaccinations. In short, Ogunbayo did a pretty good job as a single mother. Compare this to the fact that the children do not seem to be doing as well now, while in foster care. The older boy was arrested last year for marijuana possession. Based on all these facts and the children's stated and written wish to live with their mother, the appellate panel restored child custody to Ogunbayo. Unfortunately, Child Services still refuses to obey the court's directive and they have in fact gone back to Family Court with a new filing to make sure Ogunbayo does not get back custody of her children.
