Bankruptcy law can only supersede class-action lawsuits after individual lawsuits are transferred to a federal court.
If a class-action defendant files for bankruptcy protection, the bankruptcy court can only claim jurisdiction from federal district courts. In order for this to happen, individual lawsuits filed in various state courts must first be consolidated under the jurisdiction of a designated U.S. district court in that state.
